ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Ann Arbor-based Domino’s posted third-quarter profit of $152.2 million Tuesday, or $4.60 a share.
Zacks’ nine-analyst average had been $4.33 a share. Revenue hit $1.19 billion, ahead of a roughly $1.17 billion Street view from seven analysts. Domino’s ranks among Ann Arbor’s largest employers.
Domestic same-store sales rose just 0.3% — short of the 0.7% Wall Street modeled. Total sales still edged consensus, helped by supply-chain receipts and global franchise royalties.
In a competitive pizza market where diners watch budgets, Domino’s cleared the earnings hurdle even as same-store growth lagged. Chains face pressure as people dine out less and often choose chicken.
Investors balanced the profit and revenue beats against the softer same-store number.
