Canton, Mich. — An off-price Nordstrom Rack is slated to open in Canton Township on Oct. 29, adding another Detroit-area store.

The roughly 35,000-square-foot shop will occupy New Towne Plaza at 44740 Ford Road in Wayne County. Michigan already has five Rack stores and two full-line Nordstrom locations.

Rack President Gemma Lionello said the company is eager to join Canton and offer strong brands at strong prices, and to grow the Detroit footprint for new shoppers.

Shoppers can collect web orders from Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com in store and handle returns there. Typical savings run up to 70% on apparel and accessories, with beauty, home goods and shoes also on the floor.

A national October calendar lists at least 19 Rack openings that month, Canton among them. Reporting describes a planned opening — not one already complete — and does not include staffing numbers for the Canton site.
