DETROIT, Mich. — Through five games Jared Goff has 12 touchdown passes and zero interceptions — a start matched in NFL history only by Goff and Russell Wilson.
On Sunday, Oct. 11, Goff guided Detroit to a 45-21 win at Arizona as the Lions moved to 3-2. After three opening punts, the offense scored six touchdowns and a field goal on its next seven possessions.
Jahmyr Gibbs ran 25 times for 151 yards and two scores and caught five passes for 56 yards. Sam LaPorta had five catches for 88 yards, including two key fourth-down grabs. Campbell gave game balls to LaPorta, Gibbs and rookie defensive back Keith Abney II.
Campbell told the locker room to keep standards high and reject mediocrity — the team answered, he said, but still must grow. Detroit sits idle in Week 6 before hosting Green Bay on Sunday, Oct. 25, at Ford Field.
Punt returns came from Tom Kennedy and Amon-Ra St. Brown; Jake Bates stayed perfect on kicks. After Arizona’s opening touchdown, Detroit’s defense forced five straight three-and-outs before halftime.
