Detroit, Mich. — Cynthia Miller died at age 63 on Saturday, Oct. 10. She was married to Lions radio announcer Dan Miller and had long been a familiar presence at home games, an L.J. Griffin Funeral Home obituary said.
They met when she produced radio at Westwood One and shared 33 years of marriage. She usually sat several rows behind the Lions bench for every home game.
Jason Benetti filled in on Sunday’s Cardinals radio call and told listeners the broadcast’s thoughts were with Dan after Cindy’s death.
She was born in Falls Church, Virginia, on Oct. 3, 1963, earned a University of Maryland degree in 1985, spent 10 years producing news, and later taught preschool for five years.
Friends and family will gather Friday, Oct. 16, from 3 until 6 p.m. at Griffin’s Northrop-Sassaman Chapel (Northville Road at Seven Mile). A service celebrating her life follows at 6 p.m.
Relatives recalled a devoted Lions fan who brought her daughters to both home playoff games in 2024 and fostered several cats. She is survived by four children and two grandchildren.
