DETROIT, Mich. — Detroit police say a man forced his way into an east-side apartment Monday evening and opened fire, wounding a woman (29) and her daughter (7).
The call came shortly after 7 p.m. on Oct. 12 in the 8000 block of Farnsworth, near M-53 and Gratiot.
Police said the dispute grew from an earlier fight among children. The father of one child went to the apartment, argued, and after the door closed forced his way inside, drew a gun and fired once.
The round hit the mother’s arm, passed through her and struck the child’s shoulder. Both are stable and expected to live, police said.
He fled driving a white GMC Terrain. Officers say he is known in the neighborhood and want him to surrender.
Tips should go to Detroit police or 911.
