Glendale, Ariz. — After a sluggish opening, the Detroit Lions rolled past the Arizona Cardinals 45-21 on Sunday at State Farm Stadium and moved to 3-2 heading into their Week 6 bye.

Detroit punted on its first three drives and trailed 7-0, then scored six touchdowns and a field goal on its next seven possessions. Jared Goff threw three touchdown passes, and Jahmyr Gibbs ran for 151 yards and two scores.

Gibbs also caught five passes for 56 yards. Jameson Williams had touchdown grabs of 8 and 39 yards for his first multi-score receiving game. Sam LaPorta’s 38-yard touchdown catch capped an 88-yard, five-catch day.

Three of Detroit’s touchdowns came on fourth down. After allowing a score on Arizona’s first drive, the defense stuffed five straight Cardinals series for three-and-outs before halftime. Jake Bates stayed perfect on field goals and extra points this season.

Arizona fell to 1-4 and has lost nine straight home games. Detroit next gets a bye before returning after the Week 6 break.
