DETROIT, Mich. — A Saturday night shooting in the 3900 block of Wabash on Detroit’s west side left one adult dead and three other people wounded, one of them 14.
The teenager took gunshot wounds to the midsection and was listed in critical condition. An 18-year-old woman with a foot wound and a 23-year-old with an arm wound were both listed as stable.
Police had not publicly named the adult who died. Detroit’s police chief said that person carried a gun and wore a tether.
More than one shooter was involved, police said. A victim reported that after someone walked up and talked with the group, the shooters ran through a nearby field on foot.
Officers bagged shell casings and brought in K-9 units while hunting suspects still at large. Tips were directed to Detroit police or Crime Stoppers.
