Published October 5, 2026 at 12:10 pm | By Melody Magana, Staff Reporter

The Detroit Red Wings dropped a 3-2 decision to the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday at Little Caesars Arena, falling to 0-2-0 to open the season.

Kyle Connor scored two power-play goals and added an assist as Winnipeg took a 3-0 lead before Detroit fought back. Cole Perfetti had a goal and two assists for the Jets, and Stuart Skinner made 33 saves for his first win with Winnipeg.

Viktor Arvidsson scored his first goal with Detroit on a power play late in the second period. Emmitt Finnie cut the deficit to 3-2 early in the third, but the Red Wings could not finish the comeback despite late pressure with the extra attacker.
